Shopify's connector works in Grok Bot as well as Grok, on desktop web and the Grok mobile app. It isn't on the Shopify App Store. You add it from inside the AI tool [Shopify: connector for Grok]. The connector has no extra Shopify fee. Your usual Shopify plan pricing applies, and any Grok subscription is paid to xAI [Shopify: connector for Grok].
Steps
- Open Connect apps in Grok Bot. In the Grok Bot app, go to Connect apps and search for Shopify. Grok and Grok Bot are separate products. Installing the connector from Grok's connectors page doesn't install it for Grok Bot. [Shopify: connector for Grok]
- Sign in to Shopify and approve access. The tool connects to Shopify and sends you to your Shopify admin to sign in. On the install page, check the data access level the tool asks for, then approve it. Some tools ask you to connect the first time you request something that needs your store. - Choose read-only or write access carefully. Read-only access lets the tool view data. Write access lets it edit data and act for you. What it can do is also limited by your staff account's permissions. To lower access later, you have to uninstall and reinstall. [Shopify: authorizing AI access]
- Check it's connected to the right store. You can ask which store the connector is connected to. It connects one store at a time. [Shopify: connector for Grok] [Shopify: authorizing AI access]
- Try a first request (name Shopify). Mention Shopify by name and confirm the connector is on for the conversation. Shopify's example prompts include “Show me my 10 most recent orders” and “How many Vanilla Bean Candles are left?” Stick to one task at a time. [Shopify: connector for Grok]
- Switch stores when you need to. Ask the tool to connect to a different Shopify store. It disconnects the current one and starts a new authorization. Then start a new conversation. An older one can keep using the earlier connection. [Shopify: authorizing AI access]
- Revoke access any time. Uninstall the integration from your Shopify admin. After that, the tool can't read or edit your store data. [Shopify: authorizing AI access]
